Charmain Carr (Liesl)
 Charmain Carr, 59, was 21 when she played Liesl. A grandmother, she lives in California and runs an business.
The Sound of Music marked the start of her career—although she had no intention of becoming an actress. Carr was a part time model when a friend sent her picture to Robert Wise. He discovered she could dance and sing and—there she was—a perfect Liesl. Today, she works in interior design with a list of famous clients like Michael Jackson.
"After I married, I trained as a designer and spent years working on Michael Jackson's home in Los Angeles. It was like Disneyland, with a candy shop, popcorn stand and memorabilia museum," said Charmian when she was once interviewed, "Even Michael used to said whenever he was depressed, he watched The Sound of Music and felt better. I've seen it 11 times now."
