Kym Karath (Gretl)

Kym Karath, 44, who was five when she played Gretl, lives in Greenwich, Connecticut, and is married ot Philippe, an investment banker. She has a 11-year-old son, Eric.

She had already done three movies before The Sound of Music. Wise knew instantly he would never find another 5-year–old with such camera presence. Karath starred in “All my children” before taking time off for her baby.
